Summary: Saint Nicholas visits Alba and Karol
Karol climbed out of bed as quietly as he could and crept across the attic floor. He was happy Alba hadn’t noticed the orange in his coat pocket when she’d clung to his side on the slippery walk home from the hall last night; now he retrieved the little fruit and tiptoed to the door where Alba’s boots were standing in a small puddle of melted snow. He rolled the orange into one of the shoes and turned to slink back to bed…but not before noticing the wrapping paper peeking out from the mouth of one of his own boots.
