They’d done everything they could: they’d distributed the paper–with Italian, Polish, and English translations–in social clubs, union halls, and saloons. They’d saved up money to rent a hall on Bank Street. They’d even taken out an advertisement in the Day. They’d secured a few speakers, singers, and a band. Now all they had to do was wait and hope that people showed up. It would be the city’s first attempt at building an anarchist movement that extended beyond ethnic and neighborhood boundaries.
Karol wasn’t sure if God would approve of Alba’s plan, but he still prayed it would work.
